Quality: I’m going to call this strand of big Sapphire beads about a B. Since sapphire is graded on clarity & color & these are totally opaque, they can’t really be graded by the usual standard. At the same time, these sapphires have some very special qualities that surprised me!

In buying sapphires this size, I expect to see some very low quality material, because if it were any better, it wouldn’t be made into big beads, but these are just a bit nicer than expected. They are a medium color, and they have a brilliant, crisp facet to them. They are very consistent in cut (another bonus) and they are just a luxurious size. Because sapphire is a heavier stone, they feel great – solid & substantial. Big, fat, sapphires – thank you!
