Quality: These Hessonite Garnet beads are about a grade A. These little darlings are just adorable! Although onion is probably my favorite food, I think these look much more like Hershey’s Kisses than they do onions! These teeny little briolettes are translucent (not the perfect transparent that would make them shockingly expensive) with a rich array of color.

The best part about them, aside from the color, is the cut. They are amazing. I am shocked that they are hand cut, because the cut is so precise and the size is so well matched they are nearly calibrated. They have an almost radial facet on the top part of the briolette, which gives off big flash while the tiny faceting around the middle makes them sparkle. I did see some color pooling in some of the stones, but they appeared surprisingly free of marked inclusions – they seem to be mostly smooth translucent stones. Keep in mind that they are small (I admit, I didn’t expect them to be small 😉 but a really nice strand nonetheless.
