Quality: Oh geez. My second love are stones with amazing character and details and this one is amazing. This is a unique Palm Root Agate Pendant – there will never be another like it – ever. The color is varied with earth tones and patches of white & sparkle and the details are mostly crisp (there is one area that it looks a little less crisp), there is sparkling druzy in some of the cracks. The polish is outrageously glossy and the stone is enormous! It is cut like a cabochon so it has a glossy domed face & a flat back.

Palm root agate is kind of like a relative of petrified wood in that it has been created in the same way. Over time, the fibers were replaced with sediment and formed a perfect reproduction of the root in stone which gives an authentic organic feel to the stone. I have always loved Agates because you can just stare into the stone for eons and find new & incredible details every time you look, then overwhelm yourself all over again by realizing this is something that is found in nature. It’s amazing. I would LOVE to call this guy my own – but it is not to be. After all, what would I do with it? Both front & back of the piece are shown in the images.
