Quality: I’m going to call these quality Apatite beads about a grade AA. I’m pretty pleased with them. These guys are cut better than most, primarily because they are thicker and nicely faceted, although they could be more consistent in cut they really do win on the thickness for me (I’m REALLY picky about rondelles, they are so common, they need to be something special for me to really approve of them). I would like to see them nice and flat & microfaceted to get a AAA from me, but they are definitely a cut above most of the nice Apatite rondelles our there.

At the same time, these guys have a leg up on clarity – they are uniformly translucent & very light for the saturation of color (when the color gets more saturated then the stones get darker, so it’s a trade off).  Although I did see one chunk of black on one of the stones, and I would assume that there is another that I missed somewhere in there – but other than those two things (the chunk of black and my picky bit about the consistency of shape) they are really nice stones. They are very lively (which can easily be lost in such soft stone), and have that vacation blue color I love SO MUCH in Apatite!
