Quality: I’m going to have to call these quality moonstone briolettes about an AAA grade. These beads are cut from amazing material – they have that ethereal blue flash and are really quite transparent (there are some interior details as you can see in the image). There is little not to love about these little beauties, they are nicely faceted, and the only criticism I can muster is that they are cut a little thin, they are not chunky thick briolettes (although they aren’t meant to be).

I just noticed that a few are a bit slim – also, upon inspection, I noticed one that had a tiny ding on one of the edge facets and one had an off-kilter drill hole (there could be a couple more, I just thought I should mention the two that I did find). Also, there is no need to have that sinking feeling of wondering how many stones will flash, because we inspected them closely, and there are two that don’t appear to flash, other than that – every single stone has beautiful blue phenomena. Other than that, this is a strand of Moonstone Briolettes that is amazing – it is incredibly transparent with amazing flash – a truly gemmy strand!

Moonstone is an alternate birthstone for June, and Hindu lore says that the radiant shimmer of moonstone is from captured moonbeams in the stone. Dreamy, eh?
