This strand of genuine Aquamarine beads has:

Shape: Faceted rondelle button shape beads

Quality: I’m going to have to call these Aquamarine about an A grade. These guys have really great faceting and cut – they are pretty regular in thickness, and very nice in microfaceting. They are generally well matched (so there isn’t a half strand of slivers instead of actual beads on the strand, which is great. At the same time the color is very light. I personally find it difficult to call these guys genuinely variegated although you can easily see the yellow and some of the blue, the rest is very pale. Does this take away from the cut and clarity of the rest of the strand? Not at all, but it does need to be addressed (I think) so you know wat you are buying!! There are some inclusions that you can see, so a couple of beads have a black spot or two but this is the exception not the rule for these guys. They are all thick enough that you can see the faceting nicely on the side of the bead, which is of utmost importance to me in a rondelle (after all, if you can’t see the faceting on the side, what purpose does the stone serve there?). So there you have it – I’d like to see them a bit more saturated in color – but the faceting & thickness of the stone definitely gets a good grade from me!
