Quality: Most of the Lapis available today has been treated in some way (dyed generally) to give it a spectacular color at a very low price. These are NOT those beads. These are for the purists. We give these a grade A, Good Quality faceted Lapis Lazuli beads because of the deep, midnight color of them, along with the solid cut & polish.

At the same time, perfect lapis should have miniscule pyrite in the stone so as to reduce the amount of calcite that accompanies it. These are incredibly deep blue with a nice sparkle from the pyrite, but they do have a touch of calcite in them as well, giving that familiar blue with touches of sparkle and a drop of white here and there. They are wonderful beads. And if you’re the type who can really appreciate an incredible, natural, untreated genuine stone – these are for you. Totally.
