This strand of mosaic mookaite beads are:
Quantity: 26 beads (one 16″ strand)
Shape: Flat coin disc circle shaped beads
Quality: Sometimes called mosaic mookaite beads or Brecciated Mookaite beads. I had no idea there was such a thing as Brecciated Mookaite – that it was a real & consistent stone – but in fact it is. As the name indicates, brecciated Mookaite is mookaite that was broken up into bits a jillion years ago, and then solidified into rock again. Because of the jumble, the beautiful, mosaic like pattern set permanently in stone. These beads have the colors you expect to find in mookaite only jumbled up and re-set into lovely patterns. I personally think it looks a lot like those floor tiles they used in office building lobbies in the 60s. Apparently they are quite a rare thing to find, and I’ve only found them one time, many years ago – here is what we have left!
The stones in the image represent the ones you’ll receive.
