This Imperial Jasper pendant bead is:
Quantity: 1 pendant bead
Shape: Glossy smooth square-ish shape, flat back & domed face (it is side drilled to hang in a diamond-ish shape)
Quality: This Imperial Jasper Pendant Bead is awesome. This is some of the nicest Imperial Jasper I have seen in a long time. Imperial Jasper is not your average Joe of Jaspers – it is considered to be a ‘fine’ jasper, generally because it has egg-like patterns in the stone (there is a lot more to it, but I’m summarizing here). Although this Imperial Jasper shows only an approximate egg shape (the whole egg is not in the stone), it does show some of the reasons Imperial Jasper is different from many others.
Imperial Jasper has a very fine, smooth appearance to it, almost buttery in it’s designs & color changes. I like to call it extravagantly subtle, because it truly is. What I think is the best feature of this stone is the red & orange ‘rings’ that appear to circle the grey ‘egg’ in the center – they make me think very much of the rings of Saturn. This is an incredible, unique piece with great drill holes, beautiful markings, and a super glossy finish. One of the best things about this piece is that because of how it is drilled it can be used as a bead or a cabochon!
The stone in the image is the stone you’ll receive.
